The Salt + Light Project 2026

Are you looking for an opportunity for your family to grow together and make an impact on the community? Are you interested in the spiritual formation of your child that puts their faith into action? Then, I think you’ve found a great place to begin.

The Salt + Light Project is BACK for its second summer with two service opportunities. These activities are low key and allow a family to participate as much as they are able.

The theme this summer is “You are not alone.” It’s almost cliche to say, but in a world that is so much more connected, people feel more isolated. This is felt from assisted living homes, to parents, to singles, to literally everyone around us.

So, in an effort to care for our community, invite our children to serve and care for others, there are two service projects available to you:

1. July 7 Card Decorating for Country Meadows residents (at Lighthouse Realty 28 N 15th St., Allentown, 18104). This is NOT a kid drop off event. Parents are REQUIRED to stay.
2. July 22 Baby Shower Drive benefiting teen parents participating in the ELECT program in the Allentown School District. Join us at Ice Cream World to celebrate!

Baby Shower Drive Details- If you would like, you’re welcome to use the list of suggested items to benefit parents. You are also welcome to pick out your own items. Please bring new or unused items only. Side note, T+S is an Amazon Affiliate and some links do allow T+S to receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. One of my core beliefs is that spiritual formation isn’t just to know things, but to also live them out. People don’t care how much we know if they don’t know how much we care. Our faith compels us to act and care for others. It is important to come alongside our children to mentor and disciple them. Serving is an important piece in building our faith as well as our children’s. I have a great podcast episode (ep. 55) exploring this into greater detail.
