Description
Is there an easier way to have discussion for family devotions? A simpler open and go that doesn’t require a full curriculum?I created this conversational style that you can use at the table or in the car. After listening to a Bible story of your choice, discussing a Sunday school lesson, a sermon, or a podcast, use the WOW Conversation Guide to dive deeper.
It focuses on two aspects of learning: wonder and observation. From the learning, it leads us into worship. As we believe that all Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, correcting, training, and rebuking, we want to connect with it using our minds and hearts. Then, from what we have learned, we foster a time of worship praising God for what he has revealed to us through his word.
This resource is great for not only conversations, but teaching your children how to journal. For younger children, they can color what they wondered and observed. Older children can begin writing down their thoughts.
My favorite part of this truthfully is teaching our children to use what we’ve learned and then moving into worship. Don’t be fooled- this guide is for the family (parents included) not just children. Take the opportunity to share what you wondered and observed. Lead by example how it moves you to worship! We can teach our children at the table or in the car how the word of God changes us by convicting us or encouraging us.
For each section of Wonder, Observation, and Worship, there are simple questions to help you foster conversations. As you become more comfortable with leading these heartfelt and honest conversations, you’ll find yourself becoming more confident in your ability to lead.
As you lead your children through discipleship, you will also be training them to disciple others.
If you’ve downloaded this resource, would you please give feedback and share with others!
